My Story

While crossing the ocean single handedly I felt the enormous drive to dig further in the research of finding my roots. " Have one of my ancestors ever been here?" and "Is being adventurous genetic?" were one of the questions that came up in my mind regularly. After being so far away from everyone raised another question in my head. Maybe a question where I had the answer from. "Where is my home?" I never felt such strong strings with my homeland as when I was on the other side of the world. For me home is a plane ticket away but for all our ancestors who emigrated from Europe to the Americas, Australia, New Zealand and Africa it was a one way ticket. What brave people were that! My ancestors have all lived for at least the last 200 years in The Netherlands. When I go further back I come as far as Germany, Belgium, France and Great Britain. Not really adventurous. I wanted to have more adventures in my research and started researching ancestors from a fellow sailor. Yes, that was a different story! Within a few generations I was researching ancestors in South America, Africa and Asia! I enjoyed finding his ancestors more than researching mine. Here started the initial idea for researching and visualization of family trees. I am totally committed to my work. During my research I have developed the skills and experience to find your ancestors.
